As mentioned on my social pages over the weekend – the serpent has different meanings depending on the culture. In Biblical scripture, it represents the ego. You don’t kill the ego; you direct it to the back seat ‘get behind me Satan’ as Jesus stated. Understand the use of the word ‘devil’ or ‘satan’ are nicknames for the ego. You may recognise characters in the script who give the ego the ‘lead role’ in their movie, but this is YOUR movie and when you are willing to see beyond the falsities – the ego in others – and its deceptive ways, you forgive it and focus on creation energy. Creation energy dispels what is false and returns us to our God-given power to create constructively through a unification of heart and mind.
In contrast, the serpents or two snakes in the caduceus symbol which is used to represent health and healing in the modern world and shows up in healthcare, reveals the healing power of the kundalini life force. This concept stems from Eastern traditions – the sacred flowing currents of the Father and Mother rays, corresponding to the Inda and Pingala nadis – both masculine and feminine energies are within each individual – the rising of this life force happens through initiation until it reaches the crown and third eye which brings spiritual illumination and healing of karma. If you try and force a rising of kundalini it can lead to mental health issues or an inability to engage effectively with the world around you.
Once this life force energy has risen to a state of spiritual enlightenment there is no ‘death’ as you know it to be – you ascend from the physical body and realm – this was purposefully demonstrated by Jesus the Christ through His resurrection.
The Book of Revelation describes this initiation process – or rising – by the opening of the ‘seals’.
In closing I’d like to leave you with an excerpt from ‘Pearls of Wisdom’ published by The Summit Lighthouse –
‘But those who were sent to play certain roles, to show up certain aspects of the human consciousness by contrast to his Christ consciousness, bore those roles as the product of our own individual karma.
And some who had not the karma volunteered to carry a certain portion of world karma so that their garments, their countenance, their presence fit a certain personality, a certain type with whom the Law required Jesus to interact in order to give forth a certain teaching. But by and large, the majority of those who played their roles in the great drama bore those roles as the result of individual karma, thus making those roles absolutely authentic and absolutely in keeping with free will and with the Law.’
