‘Ascension’ relates to our evolution on a consciousness level and ‘awakening’ relates to the lens from which we perceive the world. They are interrelated, like the image of our DNA strand, dancing in coherence (that’s the image I see as I write this). Whilst ‘consciousness’ is of the mind, it’s primary function is awareness whereas ‘awakening’ relates to sight or vision and its connection to all senses. So, when you ‘awaken’ it impacts your nervous system through the senses, and the body experiences an emotional response to the stimuli.
At its highest function, ‘ascension’ would be represented by a balanced ‘crown’ chakra and ‘awakening’ would be a balanced ‘third eye’. Both work in coherence; they are interrelated in the context of the mind which influences our awareness and perception of reality.
Say for example you attend a lecture and discover that other civilisations existed in Earth’s history and this wasn’t taught in history class at school. With this new information you hear about (senses); awaken to, you experience a shift in perception which alters your state of consciousness. Whereas if you sit and meditate for twenty minutes, you experience a shift in consciousness which awakens you to a new and elevated perception of reality. Can you see how it’s interrelated? So when you ascend from this realm, ‘awakening’ ceases to exist because you have transcended an illusory world.
Furthermore, a ‘spiritual awakening’ relates to the realisation of a reality beyond physical experience and your relationship with it and the world around you, as a spiritual being.
So perhaps there is no mystery after all…
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” – Gospel of Matthew
