The fallen world believes in ‘enemies’, but our Creator loves ALL of His Creation and knows we have lost our way. Father God sent forth the Holy Spirit to help us return home. If you want to overcome the fears you have about your perceived “enemies” in the seen and unseen realms, then return to Love through prayer and loving choices.
The concept of enemy stems from a belief that we are separated from God, from the Source of who we are. We imagined what it would be like to separate from God, but in our imaginings, we created a world that fell so far from its Source it became like a game of ‘Survivor’, believing we need to fight, to battle for our life. And just like any battle game often depicted in the gaming industry, there are perceived enemies to fend off from causing us harm.
Spiritual texts including the Bible use the word ‘enemy’, and people often attach to it to justify adopting it in everyday language even though the Bible was translated and written at a time fit for that level of human consciousness. But we’re in year 2026 and have risen in consciousness. We’ve arrived at an era predetermined and destined for spiritual enlightenment which is seeing many people desire a return to the Source from which we come – Love. God is Love, God is unconditional Love so if we are to become anything like God, we must remember that God does not seek to have enemies, so why are we choosing to believe such things? This shift in higher consciousness is also the reason there are many seeming opposing forces desperate to have the masses hanging on to ‘survival’ consciousness so it can have more power over you. However, when you rise in consciousness and activate a remembrance of your divinity, ‘enemies’ cease to exist in your worldview because you stop feeding the belief with your energy and you restore your inner power. The only way to dissolve another’s attempts to harm or weaken you is to stop feeding it, stop reacting and seeking revenge for this is your human self holding your sword in defense. Instead, seek to forgive yourself for ever believing anything outside of you has any true power.
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”
He didn’t tell the people to fight back vengefully. The message is simple:
You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. ‘ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:43-45
Our use of the word ‘enemy’ in the modern day caught my attention when my daughter returned home from school and said, “my enemies did this to me….” It felt like a sword pierced my heart the moment I became aware that she believed she had enemies. I suggested she stop calling them her enemies because she was perpetuating their unkind behaviours. I explained that these children were simply unhappy which is why they bully her, they project their wounds onto her because she’s seemingly an easy target. But if she asserts herself with healthy boundaries she demonstrates her inner strength. Furthermore, understanding that fundamentally these children feel unloved, they want to bring her loving and kind nature down to meet them at their level. But the others must rise to meet you at yours! You do not allow, you do not settle, you do not believe that you are deserving of anything less than Love.
The ‘enemies’ experience reflected my own beliefs, but the mature adult in me rose up to share its inner wisdom with my daughter and parent my inner child. All those times I was told to fight back in the school yard was a disempowering message – an ‘eye for an eye’ is a far cry from God’s word.
Proverbs 20:22: Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you.
To wait for the Lord means to wait for the inspiration, wait until you’re in alignment with peace before responding in a way that demonstrates God’s power and love. And sometimes the best response is holding the other in God’s Love and Light through forgiveness.
Jesus encourages us to pray for those who intend to cause harm. This message is shared throughout the Bible, and it’s also written in A Course In Miracles, a modern channelled spiritual teaching and public communication from Jesus delivered by Helen Schucman:

- We said that prayer is always for yourself, and this is so. ²Why, then, should you pray for others at all? ³And if you should, how should you do it? ⁴Praying for others, if rightly understood, becomes a means for lifting your projections of guilt from your brother, and enabling you to recognize it is not he who is hurting you. ⁵The poisonous thought that he is your enemy, your evil counterpart, your nemesis, must be relinquished before you can be saved from guilt. ⁶For this the means is prayer, of rising power and with ascending goals, until it reaches even up to God.
The human consciousness is ready to comprehend that the thought someone is your enemy is poison to the mind, which is why we are delivered this message. It’s poisonous because it keeps you in ‘survivor’ consciousness, believing you need to perpetuate a battlefield here on Earth. How will you ever experience Heaven on Earth with this mindset?
Forgiving and praying for those who caused you harm lifts them from their burdens of guilt so they may be lifted in closer alignment with their true self. In doing this you are also lifted, for we are all connected by our essence in this experience of Life on Earth, for we are from the One Loving Source – our Father-Mother-God and every experience is a cry for this love or a demonstration of this love.
Prayer – Relinquish Your Belief in Enemies
Forgive me Father-Mother-God for ever believing I am separate from you, and in this remembrance of our divine union I know enemies are not of your creation but the misperception my little self conjured up to defend myself from perceived harm in the material world I created the moment I believed I was separate from your heavenly realm. I know this heavenly realm exists within me as my Christ self and consequently I cannot be truly harmed. I ask you to forgive all those I ever believed had the power to persecute me and I call forth the Holy Spirit to free me and all others from the belief in separation and in effect we return to our higher hearts committed to forgiveness and choosing to see the Light in others and our circumstances.
Thank you for filling my mind and heart with the Grace and Joy that I AM.
And so it is.
