The jezebel spirit hates divine authority witnessed in another woman – not because the other woman is better than her, but she has met her perceived rival, her nemesis – the one who sees beyond the mask fuelling the patriarchy through manipulation, seduction and more often than not, fake bits and pics. She’ll claim to be free and sexually liberated all the while latching on to the bread that feeds her – the patriarchy itself. Without knowing her own true song she becomes who he desires her to be.
She’s not free – she’s chained to the old order until she sets herself free – to see her innocence reflected in the other – who knows her as she truly is, not the woman she has become.
Jesus didn’t hang out with prostitutes as some teachers have claimed. Nor did he cast them out from entering the kingdom of God.
‘Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John (the Baptist) came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.’ – Gospel of Matthew
This is an excerpt from The Parable of the Two Sons which highlights a need to believe in ‘the way’ taught by Jesus to really live it and make decisions accordingly. Whether your profession is prostitute or priest, it’s ‘the way’ in which you serve others which has the power to draw people closer to God or distance them. ‘The way’ is LOVE. This isn’t limited to people you can gain something from, but rather who you are as the living presence of the light of Christ in all aspects of your life.
